La modalité dynamique dans les constructions 'saber' / 'poder' + infinitif en espagnol

The purpose of this work is to demonstrate that although in Spanish 'saber + infinitive' and 'poder + infinitive' express ability (dynamic modality), they need to be distinguished. I shall claim that the ability expressed by poder, is linked to the circumstances, while it is linked to the own properties of the subject when saber is used. Then I shall argue that poder allows to anchor the event in a spatio-temporal frame, while this is impossible whith saber. At last, I shall demonstrate that the aspectual kind of the infinitive varies in both cases.
